The key to having snowfun is to be prepared for the weather.
The following list contains suggestions for what to bring on our excursions:
Photo ID (e.g. driver's license)
Equipment (if applicable, unless renting)
snowboard + helmet + boots OR
snowshoes + poles
cross-country skis + poles
Backpack
Water (you will get a good workout, so be prepared to stay hydrated!)
Snacks (granola bars, energy bars, fruit, chocolate)
Proper clothing
Winter:
Synthetic (or wool) underwear/base layer
Synthetic or wool layers to keep you warm
Waterproof and windproof outer layer (snow pants are strongly recommended)
Cotton is not recommended as it absorbs moisture instead of wicking it away like synthetic materials
Toque or winter hat
Waterproof, well-insulated gloves or mitts
Warm socks (avoid cotton and bring an extra pair in case the first pair gets wet)
Scarf or neck warmer (avoid cotton)
Summer:
Waterproof outer layer
Waterproof hiking boots
Layers (temperatures can drop significantly at higher altitudes)
Eye protection
Goggles (snowboarding, snowshoeing, or skiing)
Sunglasses (snowshoeing or hiking)
Sunscreen
Camera
